Ibiza Town – The Best Place to Stay in Ibiza
Ibiza Town is the capital of the island and the most populated city. However, with a population of 50,000 people, it offers both city life and peace. We have divided the city into four: the Old Town, Talamanca Beach, Figueretes Beach, and D’en Bossa Beach. Take note that administratively speaking, D’en Bossa is not within Ibiza Town. This lovely beach is just a stroll away to the south, and locals consider it part of the city.
Ibiza Old Town – The Best Place to Stay in Ibiza for Couples
The best place to stay for couples is the Old Town. We are talking about the impressive neighborhood over the hill in the center of the city. That’s why locals refer to it as Dalt Villa, the upper town in Catalan. You will recognize it from its UNESCO-listed 16th century fortress. Get lost amongst its ancient streets with your significant other, and you will understand why so many of us love it! The views are splendid, and the atmosphere quaint. Talamanca Beach
The hotels in Talamanca beach are just a step away from the Old Town. Hence, you get the best of both worlds: beach and architecture. The beach is long, sandy, and quite relaxed. Take note that Talamanca has two distinct areas. The closest to the Old Town is Marina Ibiza, with no beach. Several hotels and restaurants line the Passeig Juan Carlos I but offer no beach. We are convinced that it is much better to stay on the beach, especially if you visit Ibiza in winter.
Hotel Argos Ibiza
This is our favorite hotel in Talamanca. It’s the first hotel to the south of the beach, so you can walk absolutely everywhere. It’s a big hotel, with all modern-day conveniences, including two pools. The rooms are big and come with a balcony. The hotel is directly on the beach and has its own private lounges and umbrellas. Book a room with sea views to enjoy Ibiza with your significant other or others.

Hotel Simbad Ibiza & Spa
This hotel is in the northern tip of the beach. In fact, it’s the last one directly on the beach close to the mirador, Cala Roja, and the world-famous Pacha Dance Club. Yes, the hotel is a little piece of heaven in the middle of all the action. The hotel has a large pool overlooking the sea. The beach is directly in front, so rooms offering stunning bay views are the best. We love the spa, perfect to chill after a night of partying.

Figueretes Beach
The best hotels in Ibiza Town are the ones in Figueretes. This is an urban beach below the Old Town, and within walking distance to the entire city. Therefore, you can visit the UNESCO-listed fortress, eat at a fancy restaurant on the marina, chill on the beach, dip in the sea, and dance the night away clubbing on the same day, and walking. Since we don’t like to drive, we usually stay here when visiting Ibiza.
THB Los Molinos Adults Only
This is our place of choice in Figueretes. The location couldn’t be better, beneath the fortress, next to the sea, and steps away from the beach. Los Molinos has a splendid garden with two pools overlooking the sea. Rooms are big and have balconies. This is an adults-only hotel, perfect for couples. The spa has an indoor pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, and a gym.

Hotel MiM Ibiza Es Vive – Adults Only
This Art Deco hotel is famous in Ibiza due to its superb sky bar overlooking the sea. Take note that the hotel is just one block from the beach. However, the pool is pretty cool and ideal to chill listening to music while enjoying cocktails. The vibe here is very Ibiza! Rooms are big and have all modern-day conveniences. D’en Bossa
As mentioned above, D’en Bossa is not technically within Ibiza City. Nevertheless, it’s super close and locals consider it part of the city. The best party hotels in Ibiza are here. That said, the beach is lovely and peaceful. The place lights up at night with incredible roof terraces to enjoy a quiet night out or some of the best dancing on earth. Take note that there are frequent public buses that take you to and back from the Old Town in minutes.

Best Areas to Stay in Ibiza for Beaches
Cala Llonga
As its Catalan name says, Cala Llonga is a long cove. Beautiful green hills tower above the cove. Since it’s over 300 feet (100m) wide and 600 feet (200m) long, it’s one of the biggest on the island. We love it because the water is gentle. You can bathe for hours. The white sand goes all the way inside the shallow sea. Adults will love it too. You can trek to lovely beaches nearby, chill at a cool bar, or bake under the sun.
The Olive – Boutique Apartment Hotel and Spa
We love The Olive Boutique Apartments, just 2 minutes from the beach. It’s in the middle of the hill, with nature all around. The hotel features a splendid pool, an open kitchen, and a mini spa guests can use for free. The apartments are fully equipped. The best ones have a terrace.

Es Figueral
To the north of Ibiza, we find Es Figueral, a quiet sandy beach with crystal waters. It’s a bay with a lot of space, including a secluded nudist section. Es Figueral is popular for snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking. Though there are a couple of bars and restaurants, the beach is quiet. You can walk on the coast to Aguas Blancas Beach, one of the nicest in Ibiza. The narrow golden sandy beach has shallow waters and loads of space. The cliffs provide natural shade.

Portinatx has some of the best beaches in the north. Since this former fishing village is a bit isolated, it has retained its character. There are no regular bus services to Portinatx, just one or two a day. Perhaps that’s why we love Portinatx. You set foot on the beach and forget about everything. You will have everything you need, great places to stay, delicious food, blue crystalline waters, sandy beaches, and loads of peace.
Barceló Portinatx
Barceló Portinatx, adults only hotel on the beach has two splendid pools and breathtaking views. The Barceló is at the end of a road, so it’s very quiet. You’ll have splendid views of the sea from the small cave of Can Marça. A 40-minute walk through nature takes you to the isolated Benirràs Cove. The sandy beach offers killer sunsets. Walk 20 minutes to Cala de Ferradura, a cute double-sided beach. Go left to Es Molar Tower for epic views.

The two coves are some 2 miles apart. Vedella is bigger. Tiny fishermen’s houses hang from the rock overlooking the sandy beach. Though you can rent umbrellas, there’s always a lot of free space to be on your own. Calo Carbó is tiny, super cute, and very quiet. The best place to watch the sunset in Ibiza is to the south. You need an hour to climb to the Es Vedrà scenic spot. If you have energy, walk above the rocks next to the sea. The beaches below are breathtaking.
